London continues as the international market of choice for Canadian companies

The London Stock Exchange is the global market of choice, offering access to an unrivalled pool of international investment. Both AIM and the Main Market provide access to international capital and profile for some of Canada’s most successful businesses.

London is the world’s most international stock exchange with over 700 overseas companies from 70 countries on its markets. In the last two years international companies have raised nearly C$60 billion on London’s markets.

There are currently 60 Canadian companies traded on the Exchange’s markets with a combined market cap of $34 billion.

AIM is a hugely successful growth market for small and medium sized enterprises with over 1,600 companies quoted, including 50 from Canada. Recently three long-standing AIM quoted Canadian companies, Yamana Gold, OilExco and First Quantum Minerals, have progressed from AIM to the Main Market, while others such as Addax Petroleum have gone directly to the Main Market.

These organizations and others have used London to gain access to international investment capital and build their global visibility.

Representatives from the Exchange will be travelling across Canada to present the opportunities and benefits of exposure on AIM and the Main Market. Breakfast seminars will feature presentations from a UK-based legal firm, an international accounting practice and a Sponsor/Nominated Advisor, as well as a speaker from the London Stock Exchange. Each will share their unique experiences of working with Canadian companies in London.
